Choosing God’s Way in a Self-Driven World

Choosing God’s Way in a Self-Driven World (From one of my quiet times this week…)

One of the most important choices in life is whether to follow God’s path or my own—and that choice requires humility.

Pride pushes for control, insisting, “I’ve got this.”
Humility releases control and says, “God, Your way is better than mine.”

Scripture reminds us that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. That truth applies just as much in leadership as it does in life. Every time I choose humility—trusting God’s wisdom over my own—I find strength, clarity, and peace that I could never manufacture through effort alone.

When I humbly surrender my plans, God doesn’t take less from me—He leads me toward more: more purpose, more alignment, more impact.

Bottom Line

True success begins not with control, but with surrender. God lifts those who walk humbly and trust His direction.

How do you practice humility in a results-driven world?

What helps you pause, release control, and align your leadership decisions with something greater than yourself?

Let’s start a conversation that encourages others to lead with humility and faith in action.

The Power of Consistency

“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.”

— Vincent Van Gogh

So often, we underestimate the power of consistency. We want big results, fast change, and visible progress — but true transformation happens through the small, intentional steps we take every day.

Leadership, growth, and purpose aren’t built in a moment of impulse — they’re shaped through daily discipline, meaningful connections, and a willingness to keep showing up when no one’s watching.

If you’re feeling like your progress is slow, remember this: every small act of faithfulness, every conversation that builds trust, every choice to grow rather than give up — they all add up.

Keep going. Your small steps today are the building blocks of the great thing that’s coming.

What’s one small step you can take today toward the bigger vision you’re called to build?

Share it below — or message me if you’re ready to start aligning your daily actions with your God-given purpose. Let’s grow together.

Responding to Adversity

“Very little of how we overcome adversity is about the adversity itself. It’s about how we respond and react to it.”

— John Maxwell

Adversity is never convenient, but it’s always revealing. It tests not just our strength, but our mindset, character, and capacity to lead through challenge.

In those moments when things don’t go as planned, our response determines whether adversity becomes a setback or a setup. Growth-minded leaders don’t waste pain — they learn from it, lead through it, and leverage it to become better versions of themselves and to lift others.

You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can absolutely control how you show up in the middle of it. That’s where leadership is forged — not in comfort, but in response.

What’s one way you’ve grown through a recent challenge or setback?

Share it below — your perspective might be exactly what someone else needs to hear today.

Not Giving Up

“Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.” — Marilyn Vos Savant

We’ve all faced moments that felt like defeat — the project that fell apart, the opportunity that slipped away, the door that didn’t open when we were ready to walk through it.

But defeat is not the same as done.

Every setback can be a setup for growth — a chance to pause, learn, and rise stronger. The only time failure truly wins is when we decide to stop showing up.

Leadership isn’t about never falling. It’s about developing the resilience to rise again, with wisdom in one hand and faith in the other.

So today, take a breath. Reflect. Recommit. The story isn’t over yet — and your next step might just be the one that changes everything.

In my full time role I face challenges all the time. Often I wonder if it's still worth the effort. This quote reminds me that giving up actually brings defeat.

What challenge have you faced recently that tried to convince you to give up? Share one way you’re choosing perseverance over defeat this week — your story might be the spark that keeps someone else going.

Lack of Time?

“Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have 24-hour days.” — Zig Ziglar

It’s not about having more time — it’s about having more clarity.

Leaders often feel stretched thin, constantly reacting instead of directing. The truth is, time isn’t our biggest challenge — it’s focus. Without a clear sense of direction, even the busiest day can feel unproductive and unfulfilling.

When we align our daily actions with purpose, everything changes. Energy flows where clarity grows. Decisions become easier. Progress becomes measurable. Impact becomes lasting.

The best leaders I know don’t manage time — they lead themselves first. They know where they’re going and why it matters.

What’s one area in your leadership or life where you need more direction, not more time? Take 10 minutes today to define your next right step — and share it to inspire others to do the same.

For me, it’s to clarify and commit to my core direction for the next 3 months.

I had been gathering insight, truth, and inspiration. Now it’s time for me to translate that into focused movement. That means taking one of my core areas and shaping it into a simple, actionable framework. It’s about doing what matters with precision. I already have the seeds; now it’s time to cultivate them with focus.

The Wisdom of Listening First

The Wisdom of Listening First

“Listen for God’s voice in everything you do and everywhere you go. He’s the one who will keep you on track.” — Proverbs 3:6 (MSG)

As leaders, we’re often told to speak with clarity, act decisively, and move fast. But true wisdom begins with listening first—not to noise, not to ego, but to the still, guiding voice of God.

Listening confirms connection. It reminds me that leadership isn’t about control, it’s about alignment. When I slow down long enough to hear God’s direction, He protects me from wasted motion, wrong turns, and burnout.

The goal isn’t worldly success; it’s spiritual alignment—becoming who we’re created to be.
God doesn’t just want to use us for results; He wants to guide us for relationships.

Bottom line:
When I listen for God’s voice, He keeps me on the right path—protecting, guiding, and aligning me with His purpose.

What helps you quiet the noise so you can discern God’s voice in your leadership or daily decisions?

Lead for Impact, Not for Titles

“Live your life for others and let history decide your title.”  - John C. Maxwell

This quote is a powerful reminder that leadership isn’t about recognition — it’s about responsibility. It’s not about the title I carry today… but the lives I touch along the way.

In a world where achievement and position often take center stage, this quote calls me back to purpose:

To serve.

To add value.

To lift others higher.

The true measure of leadership isn’t found on a business card, rather it’s found in the people who were changed because I cared enough to invest in them.

At the end of the day, I don’t want to be remembered for what I achieved. I want to be remembered for who I helped become better.

So who are you intentionally pouring into this week?

Think of one person you can encourage, coach, or support — not for credit, but for impact.

Drop a simple “I’ve got one!” below to inspire others to do the same.

Focus on the Seeds

“Focus on the seeds, not the trees. What seeds are you planting today?” — James Clear

So often, we get caught up measuring the size of the tree — the outcomes, the recognition, the visible results. But leadership and growth don’t start there. They start in the soil… with small, consistent seeds of effort, faith, and service.

Every encouraging word.
Every intentional conversation.
Every act of integrity when no one’s watching.
These are the seeds that become legacies.

I’ve learned that meaningful growth doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of showing up, day after day, and trusting that what you plant in faith today will bear fruit — in its time.

So today, I’m choosing to focus less on the forest I hope to see… and more on the seeds I’m called to sow.

What seed can you plant today — in your work, your team, or your own growth?
Share one intentional action you’ll take this week to invest in your future harvest.

Persistent Prayer Reveals Priorities

Prayer is less about convincing God — and more about revealing my priorities.

That truth hit me recently.
Persistent prayer doesn’t change God’s mind; it changes mine.
It shows me what truly matters… and where my heart, time, and energy are really going.

If I’m honest, the areas I worry about most are often the very ones I’ve failed to fully entrust to Him.
But here’s the good news — every worry can become a prayer.
And every prayer becomes an opportunity to align my heart with His will.

Jesus said when we seek first His Kingdom and live righteously, everything else falls into place.
So if it’s not worth praying about consistently… maybe it’s not a true priority.

For me, that means realigning my focus — making sure my foundation, my energy, and my time reflect my highest calling. Because when my priorities align with God’s purpose, my influence grows naturally — and my leadership, coaching, and content all flow with greater authenticity and authority.

What’s one area in your life or leadership where you need to stop worrying — and start praying persistently?

Consider where you need to realign your priorities for Kingdom impact?

Enough Is Enough

Enough Is Enough

Ever feel like you’re living in survival mode?

Running from one project, meeting, or commitment to the next — trying to fit it all in?

Here’s the truth that I believe will be freeing for me:
🕰️ Time can’t be stretched. But it can be honored.

We all have limits — and maybe they’re not our enemy.
Maybe they’re God’s way of reminding us to slow down, focus, and trust that what we can give today is enough.

Peace doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing what matters mostand letting go of the rest.

This week, I’m going to attempt to choose margin over madness.
To say no to one more “should”… so I can say yes to peace.

What’s one thing you can let go of this week to make space for peace?

The Heart of Leadership

The Heart of Leadership: Taking Care of People!

"Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge." – Simon Sinek

True leadership isn’t measured by titles, positions, or control—it’s measured by how well we serve, empower, and grow the people we lead.

When we shift from managing tasks to caring for people, everything changes:

🔹 Teams find purpose.

🔹 Trust deepens.

🔹 Growth becomes collective, not competitive.

As leaders, our greatest responsibility isn’t to have all the answers—it’s to create environments where others can thrive, discover their strengths, and step confidently into their calling.

💭 Leadership starts with caring. Influence grows through serving.

This comes as a great reminder for me in my current role. This coming week, I need to shift more from being task oriented, to caring for those I lead.

How are you taking care of those in your charge this week?

Share one practical way you’re intentionally investing in your team, your peers, or even yourself today. Let’s lead with purpose—and make care our competitive advantage.

Prepare for Tomorrow

“The only adequate preparation for tomorrow is the right use of today.” – John C. Maxwell

So many leaders and professionals look ahead, planning for the “next” — the next goal, opportunity, or breakthrough. But what I have discovered is that tomorrow's success is built on today’s stewardship and consistency.

How we invest our time, energy, and focus today determines the influence, growth, and impact we’ll have tomorrow.

💡 Are you using today well?
Are you growing, serving, and leading with intention right where you are — or waiting for a better moment to start?

Every conversation, decision, and act of discipline today lays the groundwork for the leader you’re becoming.

👉  Take a moment today to ask yourself:

  • What one thing can I do today that will make tomorrow better?

  • Who can I invest in, encourage, or empower right now?

Your tomorrow starts with what you choose to do today.
Be sure to:  Learn. Lead. Inspire.

What I Learn, While I Wait!

What I Learn, While I Wait! (from one of my quiet times this week...)

Some prayers are answered quickly, but often God allows waiting so he can refine and shape me in the process. Just like silver and gold are purified by fire until the metalsmith sees his reflection, God uses seasons of testing to burn away impurities and develop my character so he can see his likeness in me. Delays in answered prayer are not denials; they are opportunities to learn persistence, grow in faith, and be prepared for the blessing that follows the testing. When I continue to pray faithfully, God promises to answer in his time and way.

Bottom Line

God often delays answers to prayer because He’s refining and preparing me through the process—testing my faith, purifying my heart, and shaping me to reflect Him more fully. The blessing comes after the testing.

This means that I need to lean into persistence by staying consistent in prayer, even when I don’t see immediate answers. At the same time, I need to learn to journal what God is revealing about my character, strengths, and areas of growth during the “waiting season.” This will give me both insight to use in my interactions with others and a deeper reservoir of experiences to encourage others who feel stuck in their own waiting.
